Velkommen!

Nidaros Lodge #1-001 of Sons of Norway is named after what is now known as Trondheim, Norway. We are the original Sons of Norway lodge, and have been in existance for 125 years. Because of this, we are known as the "Mother Lodge". Our lodge is vibrant and active, and is based on the concepts of tradition and fellowship.

We invite you to join the Sons of Norway and Nidaros Lodge #1; become a part of this heritage

In Person Program:

May 1, 2025 6:30 pm Commemorate the Bicentennial of Norwegian Migration to America with us!
New Land, New Life: 1825-2025; A New Presentation by  Lawrence Moe, PhD, Professor of English Emeritus, Metropolitan State University, Twin Cities, Minnesota

In this special presentation to commemorate the bicentennial of organized migration from Norway to America, Dr. Moe will first overview the remarkably rich history of our migration during these two centuries, giving special attention to the reasons so many Norwegians left their beautiful homeland for America, and then present and discuss a fascinating range of perspectives on our continuing efforts to preserve and appreciate Norwegian culture here in the United States.

This presentation had its genesis in the invitation from District One of the Sons of Norway for Dr. Moe to give the Keynote Address at their August 2024 convention.  The convention theme focused on the bicentennial, including the title “New Land, New Life:  1825-2025.”  Dr. Moe is honored to offer this presentation to you!

This meeting will be in person at Elim Lutheran Church at 3978 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55422
