Volunteer Activities
We participate regularly in the Sons of Norway Adopt a School program, and in area programs such as the Marie Sandvik program and the Vinland Center.
Monthly Meetings
Meetings are held from Sept to June on the first Thursday of each month. Meetings usually start at 6:30 pm and end by 9 pm and are held at Elim Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale, MN. In the winter months we meet via Zoom.
Cultural Activities
Small group studies on Language, Genealogy, Singing, Traditions, Folklore, Folkarts and History are formed as interest arises. We also collaborate with the other Twin Cities lodges to form small groups. Contact us for more information.
Community Activities
We are active participants in Minneapolis area Scandinavian celebrations.
Youth
Nidaros Lodge #1-001 is proud to co-sponsor several youth programs and initiatives. Lodge meetings and programs are always open to children. We welcome the entire family to join us!
The Metro Jr. Lodge for youth ages 5-17, sponsored by Nidaros and other Twin City area Sons of Norway Lodges. The Jr. Lodge meets monthly to learn about Norwegian culture and language.
Fjell og Fjord, a Norwegian dance group which meets twice monthly.
Scholarships for Youth to:
Camp Masse Moro, located in Wisconsin
Camp Skogfjorden, part of the Concordia Language Villages near Brainerd, MN .
The Swedish, Finnish and Danish villages, also part of Concordia Language Villages.
Folk School in Norway
Adopt a School-- Nidaros Lodge participates in the Adopt a School program through the collection of soup labels and milk covers.
Tubfrim
Nidaros Lodge helps to support the Tubfrim program in Norway through the collection of used stamps.
